The Tuscaloosa County Public Works Department maintains county roads, county-owned property, or right-of-way along county-maintained roads.
To find out if a road is county-maintained or for right-of-way information, please provide the following information when you call:
- The name of the road
- The address of the location, or the house number closest to that location
- Any cross streets or landmarks, if a house number is not available
- The property’s parcel information (found on the deed), including section, township, and range, if available
If there is an emergency situation (such as a downed tree on a public road) outside of our office hours (Monday – Friday, please call the Sheriff’s Department at (205) 752-0616 to report the problem.
The department is also responsible for road and traffic signs. Please contact the office for more information.
